Who's Paul?

So you'd really like to know...

Before the “but what will you do when you need to get a REAL job...?” conversation happened, I left for a prolonged 20-year odyssey across Canada working as a broadcaster.

Every day after I got off the air, commercials were waiting to be voiced.

THAT was the apprenticeship in the trenches.

Then came the shift to deeper performances and voice acting full-time in 1999.

There are so many patient mentors and coaches that I couldn’t thank them all outside of a book. Not to mention the ironclad support of friends and my family. Yes, you can definitely read that as “…behind every good man,” and so on.

Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way.

Timing

Long and varied experience, and industry/studio best practices mean large projects with many files get handled easily, professionally and on time.

Contracts

Paperwork, ranging from international payments to contracts, is handled quickly and flawlessly. I’ve helped many grateful clients cross a LOT of “t’s” and dot a LOT of “i’s” over the years.

Experience

Craft derived from decades of daily experience is expressed with the immediacy and freshness of “today” thanks to ongoing professional development with the best facilitators in the world.

Education

By bringing a voracious reader and lifelong learner’s curiosity to bear on your material and communicating every nuance of complex vocabulary and ideas.

Humanity

I’m human. I make mistakes, but those are always fixed for free. Guaranteed. I make sure you and your client are satisfied before declaring “We’re done here.”

So, once you’ve decided on working with me, you’ll likely appreciate that I treat working with you on your project as the business privilege it is.

I’m punctual and take direction with aplomb; that’s a part of the whole ‘professional’ voice actor thing.
